In a span of two weeks, two of my friends lost their dads.
Being a daddy's girl, I could never imagine the pain they must be feeling right now. :(
I was so burdened by my friend's Facebook post last night.
Friends,Please pray for the soul of my father. He needs it right now.. Tatay, i love you.. You will always be missed.. Ang hrap tanggapin. God,please help us.. :'(
My mom saw this too. "Ang hirap tanggapin." So we both prayed for her and her family, that God comfort them through this dark time.
May they find comfort in this song.
♥
Write what you think. After a couple of years, you'd be surprised to know that you have actually thought or felt that way.. Yet, it's amazing, and it brings back a certain feeling from days long gone, feelings you forgot you ever felt. Things you forgot of ever thinking about. Actions you forgot of ever doing. Important things you thought never happened. The nostalgia sucks but the reminiscing is worth the nostalgia anyway =)

Dear Mega,
You are not called "Mega" for nothing.
As Wikipedia defined it, mega comes from the Greek word
meaning great.
You are like Madonna of Philippine entertainment. You may be not-so-visible to the public eye but once you return, it's like you were never gone. Madonna can do everything she wants, good or bad, but she still is Madonna. Not that you've done bad things. What I'm trying to point at is this: people will always love you no matter what.
And no, that isn't always the case for all celebrities. Only a handful get to have that space in most, if not all, Filipinos' hearts. You have raised that bar not just in entertainment, not just in acting and singing, but in... living life. You are a testimony that things may go so bad, rock bottom as they say, but with God's help, you rise above it all.
As a woman, you give that certain strength, that strength that can only come from having experienced pain. Raising a kid on your own in the midst of public scrutiny, and raising her so well at that? That's some kind of accomplishment. I do not know you personally (oh, I wish I could meet you someday) but what you've been through and how graceful you've managed to go through it would always be an inspiration to us women. A constant reminder that women are tough. And that breakups do not define who we are, that we are beautifully strong and can bounce back.
Oh, and you have bounced back. Your love for your family is another inspiration, an example of what a family should be. You and Sir Kiko have raised beautiful, intelligent kids. And as to what we can attest here in Twitter, you are so in love with them.
Yes, you are the Megastar because you have been in this business for so long, and you have made blockbuster movies and sold a lot of records, but for me, you are the Megastar because you are a great example to people, to women especially. Beautiful (that's a given), intelligent, always hungry for knowledge, witty, compassionate to others, a child of God. And you have a big heart. As I tweeted before, you are Sharon Cuneta because you have a really big heart, so big that it can accommodate people you do not personally know, people like us.
The reason for this blog post? Just a reminder that you ARE and always will be an inspiration to a lot of people. You may not know it, or you may not feel like you are sometimes, but YOU ARE.
So smile :)
And thanks!

Nika
